Book two, Exiles from the Sacred Land, is done? When will it be available for sale?
Well, the principal writing is done, the editor (Courtney Umphress) currently has it. As soon as she gets it back to me I will have to go into revisions. I will probably add a good chunk of writing to whatever Courtney sends back to me. As for when it will be offered for sale. That depends on the time it takes for me to get the revisions done, and Courtney will also insist on seeing the completed book once more before she will stamp it as edited and ready for publication.
Book two shakes things up a bit?
Without giving anything away, yes. If you remember your old high school English plot diagram, if Defenders was the exposition then Exiles will be the rising action.
If you don’t remember your high school English then this is the book where things get all dark and tossed about.
Have you started writing book 3?
I have already outlined some of it. I will start writing it on August 4th and finish it sometime around October 24th
As stated in one of my answers to your previous questions each book can be plugged into the story telling plot diagram, which means big things have to happen in book 3 (and they will!)
Are you referring to dragons!?
Yes, yes I am. I so dearly love dragons! The fact is Defenders of the Sacred Land is book one of five. Exiles from the Sacred Land expands on the story and throws a few more hints in there as to what’s coming with the dragons. I don’t want to say too much more about it...watch the dragons!
From your stories, I take it you are a big fan of the literary twist in your plotlines
You know, it’s a fine line between confusing your audience and keeping them guessing. I like to keep my audience guessing without being cheap about it.
Who did the cover for Exiles?
I did the front cover and Joseph J. Calkins did the spine and back cover. I wanted Joe for the entire cover, but he was unavailable until recently. He will be doing a completely original cover for book 3.
Thank you for your time. We look forward to Exiles from the Sacred Land coming later this month.
Thank you! It was a pleasure!
